More from Camp

here are some more pictures from our times at camp. Rikk tried real hard to start a fire one day....we did not have a fire that night. It had rained a whole lot and everything was wet, wet, wet! He even got me with the rain water on the tarp! I was walking towards the camper and I was just about under the tarp and he decides to push up on it and all this rain water pours on me. YIKES! It was cold! I laughed and I think he thouhgt I was going to react differently! So didn't our neighbors! They waited to laugh until I did!

Camp...

This summer we spent a lot of time at Rikk's parents camp in Port Henry. It was so much fun and the kids loved it! We went out on the paddle boat and swam in the lake. They got to play at the playground so much! We all loved our time there.

This picture is from the Vermont side of a huge bridge we crossed. Rikk was in a softball tourney in Rutland. We thought it would be closer to stay at camp rather than going home....WRONG! But it was much more fun. The ride was so peaceful and beautiful. LOTS of cows so the kids were happy.

First Grade

Gregory started first grade this year! YIKES!! Am I getting old or is he just getting older?? I guess it is both. Oh well. His teachers' name is Mrs. Williams. She is a lovely lady and he really seems to like her. They have already had a spelling test. My boy received his first 100! I am so very proud of him. Though he is not much for wanting to do the homework required!

We are in week 3 of school this year and I really miss my boy. I admit I do now understand the staples or is it walmart commercial that sing the christmas song....Its the most wonderful time of the year!!! That being said it is nice to have a break. We do get at each other very easily by the end of the summer. He IS my boy, just like his Mama. We both always have to have the last word. It is very frustrating.

Rikk and my Mom both have said how alike Gregory and I are. Well, what can I say...we spend so much time together that I am just rubbing off on him. Good and bad qualities! Kallie seems to be just like me as well. Oh man...poor Rikk!

I cannot believe that I am already looking forward to half days of school! I miss him wanting to snuggle in the afternoon. We are usually quite busy once school is out. Softball...Dance....or Soccer. By the time we get home its a hurried dinner and to off to bed he goes. 7:00 comes very quickly~to his dismay!

Dancin...Dancin...Dancin!!

Last Tuesday I brough Kallie to her first dance class. I was more excited than she was for sure! I was very proud of her...she made it through 20 mins of the 30 min class. The teacher said to definetly bring her back next week. She should do better then. Okay Great!

Here we are at the next week....Today. Kallie Mae was all excited for dance today as Meme bought her new tap shoes, a liatard and tights. YIPPIE!!! DANCE! When we left the mall Kallie was very tired. She came home, ate a little bit of lunch and fell fast asleep in her highchair(1:15ish). I moved her to the bed and was just thrilled that she was napping...it was going to be a GREAT day at dance ....I just knew it!

3:50ish....Kallie awakens from a long nap...all refreshed and happy?!*>>I think not! Kallie Mae is simply miserable! I have no idea who this little girl is that just came out of her room but it IS NOT my little dancer! She refused to eat or drink anything and just wanted to be held. UGH! Don't get me wrong, I love holding my peanut! I just knew that with this attitude dance was not going to go well.

4:15...We are getting ready to leave for dance all dressed and ready to go! Looking so beautiful might I add....We get to dance and the water works start. We want nothing to do with even going into the classroom.

4:30...Dance class starts. Gregory, Kallie and I are sitting in the classroom. Kallie is sitting not dancing! Kallie is crying and will not even try to dance. My spirit is broken! I have so looked forward to this day and she wants nothing to do with it!

5:00....we are home. Kallie is STILL crying. I am at wits end and go to the market for some quiet time for mommy. UGH!

Well it's official my boy started Kindergarten! He loves it and I miss him. It's not like I don't have anything to do around the house it's just that hes always been there in the mornings. I know I will definetly get used to having time alone, that is when the daycare children and my Kallie are sleeping!
Gregory has already brought little colored pages and a hand print project home. Of course they are on the fridge immediately upon finding them! We are so proud of him and he has done so well adjusting to having school all day. He also has a fundraiser ALREADY! The entertainment book. They are not cheap. $30 a book and who can say no to his sweet little voice? Nobody so far!
Last night was the first PTA meeting. I was really surprised that they were so few people there. I guess I had the "movie scenes" in my head where the entire gymnasium is full of supporting parents. Not here! There were maybe 12 of us. That is including the principal. Well I am all ready for bake sales and homeroom mommy duties!
Gregory started full day Kindergarten this week and he is certainly tired when he comes home. Well I should say tired and hungry! That is a good thing too he doesn't eat enough! Just so picky. I hope to get him trying more new foods as the year continues. He has done well with trying all of our veggies from the garden. I think he might actually like some of it too!
Kallie Mae seems to miss her big brother too. The smile she gets when she sees him after he gets home from school is priceless! She is a very stingy little girl when it comes to kisses but Gregory doesn't even have to ask. She very willingly showers him with kisses! I love to see the love between them. It truely makes me so proud. Kallie is having problems with her right ear. The tube has twisted and we hace to go to the doctor today to see if the drops helped at all. Heres hoping! I really don't want to have to have her go through another operation. Maybe that won't happen...I must stay opptimistic!
As for Rikk and I all is well. Softball season is finally over, well almost this weekend is it! It has been avery long and trying summer. My cake classes will be starting up again soon ans I am psyched! I love learning new techniques. I have been asked to make a wedding cake and get paid for October! I am slowly but surely making it with cake decorating!
